The Worshipful Master & his Wardens look forward to your attendance at an Extra-Ordinary Meeting

Third Degree Ceremony

Bro. Jordan Carty

Visitor to Brac Lodge No. 9470 E.C. from Tandridge
Hundred Lodge in Surrey, England

Tuesday February 26th, 2019

Freemasons Hall, 321 Mahogany Way, Prospect, Grand Cayman

When Bro Jordan Carty left the UK to work in the Caribbean, he had only just been made a Fellowcraft…and it was likely to be two years before he returned to England to be Raised to the Third Degree at his mother Lodge – Tandridge Hundred No 5767.

But his step-grandfather, W.Bro John Tomlin, had other ideas.

Contact was made with Brac Lodge No 9470 in the Cayman Islands to see if it would be willing to carry out the ceremony on Tandridge Hundred’s behalf.

Brac Lodge’s Worshipful Master, W,Bro David Pellow readily agreed, and the Surrey Lodge made the appropriate request to confer the Degree under Rule 173 Book of Constitutions. Dispensation was granted for an emergency meeting for the ceremony to take place.

Bro Jordan’s father, W.Bro Sean Carty, and his brother, Bro Scott Carty, are also members of Tandridge Hundred, and the Brethren of Brac Lodge agreed that they, and W.Bro Tomlin, could all take part in the ceremony.

The Tandridge Brethren with their families flew to Grand Cayman and combined a great Masonic experience with a wonderful holiday. The Surrey Brethren attended a Lodge of Rehearsal followed by the Lodge meeting the following evening.

Bro Tomlin said: “The Master and Brethren of Brac Lodge made us all very welcome and we were shown superb hospitality after the meeting at the festive board. The standard of ritual was very high and Bro. Jordan experienced a memorable Third Degree. He will now be attending Brac’s meetings regularly as a visitor.”

The Brethren Tandridge Hundred Lodge would like to extend their warmest thanks and appreciation to the members of Brac Lodge for the work, time and effort put in to Raise a Brother from the other side of the globe.
